JCI Philippines Observes “National Training Month”

In one of its most aggressive initiatives in buttressing a snowballing interest in JCI training the National Training Commission (NTC) has once again announced the yearly tradition on the observance of National Training Month’ for the entire month of May 2007. According to JCI Mem. Gleendo Dasmarinas this year’s Chairman of the National Training Commission, in the past years that it has been implemented, it proves to be very benefiting to the LOMs especially in the conduct of priority basic seminars.

The “National Training Month hopes to arrest the dwindling number of active trainers in recent years by rekindling their interest in pursuing their JCI career in training”. It encourages all local chapters to “take JCI seminars to a higher level” emphasizing that ‘local chapters should go beyond the confines of JCI “canned” seminars and seek ways in order to make courses more relevant and responsive”. The two NTC’s main objectives for National Training Month this year are to promote the creation of Chapter Training Team (CTT) in each chapter and to encourage chapters to conduct seminars through the four JCI channels namely – Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Management and Trainer.

Today, the NTC is lobbying for Area and Regional Training Directors to conduct a Trainers Assembly (Forum) throughout the 5 geographical areas to re-orient inactive trainers and motivate them to re-start their careers in training. The assembly aims to conduct a short session especially Prime Graduates who would like to get back in the mainstream of training and pursue higher level in training and as such seek accreditation to the JCI University. As an incentive this month, chapters who managed implement, co-host with another chapter or even just participating in a training seminar may earn extra JCIPEA points this month.
